WHERE OUR STORY BEGAN

In 2017, we set out to build a rod that was lighter and more sensitive than anything we had ever fished. A fly rod that looked wicked awesome and could drop a dry fly with precision under any condition. After months of collaborative design work, producing countless blanks in a variety of tapers, we’d finally built it — and we called it the FLEX.

A precision-engineered Japanese Toray carbon fiber blank combined with a fully machined aluminum gun metal reel seat, the FLEX is an extremely light and responsive rod. It has the strength to haul in a trophy and the power and accuracy to target a gentle sipper yards away. This was our first rod, an introduction to the fly-fishing market and a launching point for innovation.

Over the next 4 years, we would set out to build something even more special. A 9-foot stick that would compete and disrupt the upper tier of the market. In 2021, we launched the Origin Series and everything else is history.

At Wicked Fly, we are a passion over profit company. Our mission is to produce products that fuel the fly-fishing addiction, and ensure we pass this timeless tradition on to future generations.
